Day 1 : Paro - Sightseeing
Sightseeing of Paro valley.
Rimpung Dzong (Fortress) built in 1646, District Administration of Paro.
Ta Dzong, ancient watchtower which now houses the national museum. This museum offers a great orientation in Bhutan’s in history, cultural, religious, natural and economic life. It has been acknowledged to be one of the best natural museums in the world.
Walk the ancient cantilever bridge near the fortress.

Day 2 : Paro - Thimphu (1 and half hour drive)
Thimphu Sightseeing
Textile Museum,(Gallery of Bhutanese Textiles)

Day 3 - Thimphu
Visit Bhutanese handmade paper factory and observe the paper making techniques.
Visit the National Memorial Chorten.
Drive up to Thimphu view point (Sangaygang), passing through the Takin (national animal) zoo.
National Library (repository of ancient texts & scriptures)Handicraft Emporium.

Day 4 Thimphu - Punakha Stop at Dochula pass (3050 m) where you can view the entire eastern Himalayan range on the clear day.
Explore Wangdi market .
Drive to Punakha & the Magnificent Punakha Dzong. |
Day 5 Punakha - Paro (4hours drive)
Short hike to Chimi Lhakang (Temple of the divine madman/saint of fetility) Visit Kichu Lhakang (Oldest temple in Bhutan dates back to 7th Century)
Drive to Drugyel dzong, the dzong of victorious Drukpas.
Visit a farm house.

Day 6 Paro
Hiking excursion to the Tigers Nest Monastery,One of the most venerated spiritual heritage site in Bhutan.The monastery is perched precariously on a rock cliff 900 mts above the valley floor.Hike rating (Moderate) 2 hrs climb & 1 hour descent.
OR Picnic in Chelai la Pass (3,980 mts) and visit adjoining Kila Gonpa Nunnery (open during spring,summer & autumn months). |
